The Dayton Foundation Wins National Awards for Outstanding Communications
For the fourth consecutive year, The Dayton Foundation has been named an award winner for excellence in communications by the national Wilmer Shields Rich Awards Program. Sponsored by the Council on Foundations, the premiere professional organization for all foundations in the U.S. and abroad, the national awards program recognizes effective communications efforts to increase public awareness of foundations and corporate giving programs.
The Dayton Foundation won two of the three awards given in the magazine and periodicals category for the nation's largest community foundations (foundations over $250 million in assets). Good News, the Foundation's general newsletter, received the 2007 Silver Award. The Foundation received the 2007 Bronze Award for Futures, the Foundation's publication for financial and estate planning advisors. There are over 750 community foundations across the United States and abroad. The awards were presented recently at the 58th Annual Conference of the Council on Foundations in Seattle.
Once again, it is an honor for the Foundation to receive this recognition for excellence in communications from the national organization representing our peers, said Michael M. Parks, president of The Dayton Foundation. The Foundation's public accountability and service rely upon effective communications to our constituents.
