Scholarship Fund Information:
Established in 1999, the fund awards scholarships to Wayne High School graduates who wish to continue their education at an accredited technical school, junior college or community college. Basil Blizzard, IV, a promising graduate of Wayne High School, died tragically in an automobile accident in 1998.

7. C.F. Companies Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Fund Information:
Established in 1993, the fund helps graduates of Butler High School further their educational studies.

The fund is dedicated to the memory of this 22-year State of Ohio Representative.

9. Carl R. Scholz Unibilt Industries Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Fund Information:
The fund pays tribute to the founder of Unibilt Industries, Inc., and was established in 1994 by his son, Douglas C. Scholz, for the children of employees. 15. David A. and Kathryn E. Horner Family Memorial Fund

Scholarship Fund Information:
Established in 1997, the fund provides a scholarship to a Butler High School graduate. The fund was created by friends and family from the Vandalia-Butler community in memory of David, Kathryn, Jonathan, Carmen and Preston Horner, who perished in a train accident in central Ohio.

20. Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program (DMCSP)

Scholarship Fund Information:
The Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to help eligible students attend their first year of education at a college or university. The Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program, founded in 1981, awards 500-600 scholarships annually to students in participating Montgomery County high schools and to students who have received their GED equivalent.

The fund was established by family and friends to honor Jackie Ahlers, a Butler High School graduate, who died as a result of an automobile accident in the spring of 2002.

29. James Lockwood Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Fund Information:
The James Lockwood Scholarship was established at the wishes of James Lockwood, who was killed by a drunk driver in a traffic accident just days before deploying for service in Iraq. The scholarship is designed to award an individual who has been a member of the Fairmont Track and Field program, and has exhibited significant love and spirit for this program while not necessarily being a stand-out athlete.

30. Jennie A. Irie Scholarship Fund - 4-H

Scholarship Fund Information:
The fund was established in 1993 to provide college scholarships to graduating high-school seniors residing in Champaign, Clark or Miami counties who have been active in 4-H. Born in 1893, Jennie Irie was a member of the first 4-H Club in America. She established this fund on the eve of her 101st birthday.

32. Jerry Trimbach Scholarship Fund

60. Montgomery County Ohio College Promise Program

Scholarship Fund Information:
The Montgomery County Ohio College Promise (MCOCP) Fund supports a program developed in cooperation with the Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program, Sinclair Community College, Wright State University and other local partners. This program seeks to identify, select and support up to 500 Montgomery County, poverty impacted, eighth grade students, within the next 10 years that have shown academic promise so that the dream of attending and graduating from college becomes a reality. The selected students, upon the successful completion of high school and the meeting of the entrance requirements to Sinclair, Wright State or the other four-year university partners, will be awarded scholarships that allow them to attend college at little to no cost to them or their families. The application for the 2012-13 eight grade class will be available online on September 1, 2012.

The fund was established to offer financial assistance to a graduating Montgomery County high school senior, who is planning to become a teacher of English or English Literature. Rosamond McPherson Young, a Dayton educator, historian and journalist, died in 2005 at the age of 92. Mrs. Young was a school teacher in Dayton for 30 years and had a second career as a columnist for more than 25 years for The Journal Herald and the Dayton Daily News. She also was an author and wrote English textbooks and brisk biographies of Dayton's great men and tales of her regal cat, Edith.
