To help position our region for a stronger future, we help create and fund strategic initiatives and special efforts focused on improving the quality of life for Greater Dayton residents.
Thanks to our partnership with local and regional agencies, the financial resources of our donors and our discretionary grants to area nonprofit organizations, the Foundation and our donors are responding to critical issues and needs affecting our region.
Our participation in these efforts change to reflect our community’s evolving needs. Sometimes our involvement is time-limited, with efforts becoming their own charitable organizations that no longer require the Foundation’s leadership, while others continue for a longer period of time.

Funding for the Foundation’s community leadership initiatives and special efforts is made possible thanks to generous individuals who have established funds with little or no restrictions on how the income may be used in awarding grants. These funds form the basis of our strategic grantmaking program, which has far-reaching effects in all corners of our region.
