African-American Community Foundation - Wahid Abdullah Memorial Scholarship
The Wahid Abdullah Memorial Scholarship was established in 1997 to honor the memory of Wahid Abdullah, a 17-year-old academic scholar at Colonel White High School, whose life was abruptly ended by violence at the hands of another teen. This scholarship was founded by Jim Bucher. Applicants must:
- be a graduating senior or current college student from Montgomery County, Ohio,
- be accepted to a two-year, four-year, technical school or college or university, and
- demonstrate community service.
Preference will be given to students who major in communications and/or journalism. Financial need will be considered if all else is equal.
