Alberta Warford Memorial Scholarship
Alberta Fann Warford, an entrepreneur, successful businesswoman, devoted educator and cherished member of the Dayton City Schools community, passed away at the age of 89. With more than 40 years of dedicated service in the classroom, Alberta touched the lives of countless students, colleagues and families through an unwavering commitment to learning and compassion. Born and raised elsewhere, Alberta spent the majority of her professional life in Dayton, where she became a beloved figure in the school district. Known for her gentle demeanor, quiet strength and tireless work ethic, Alberta was the kind of teacher who saw the potential in every child and never stopped encouraging them to reach for it. Though Alberta did not have children of her own, her legacy lives on in the thousands of students she taught and mentored over four decades. Her classroom was more than a place of instruction—it was a safe haven, a space of growth and a second home to many. Outside of school, Alberta was a lover of good food and the simple joys of life.
