Aleksandar Svager Scholarship
The Aleksandar Svager Scholarship Fund was established to help minority physics majors earn a degree at a four-year college or university. Mr. Svager tutored students in math and physics at the University of Sarajevo before coming to the United States in 1960 to earn a master’s degree in physics from Texas Christian University. He then went on to become the chair of the physics department at Central State University until he retired in 1996.
Applicants must:
- be a minority student (African American, Hispanic American or Indigenous) majoring in physics),
- be a United States citizen,
- have a minimum GPA of 3.0 based upon a 4.0 scale, and
- be accepted to or currently attending an accredited four-year college or university.
