Alexander-Bickley Scholarship

This scholarship, established in 2016, supports female graduating seniors from Dayton Public Schools who plan to pursue a degree in a STEM-related field at a community college or four-year college or university. Inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of Manuel Bickley, the grandchild of a slave, this scholarship embodies his vision and belief in what is possible in America. His determination and innovative spirit have been passed down through generations of the Bickley family. The scholarship aims to inspire recipients to achieve academic excellence and courageously pursue their goals. Preference will be given to applicants who have participated in band.

Applicants must:

  • be a graduating senior from a school in the Dayton Public School District,
  • be female,
  • be accepted to an accredited community college or four-year college or university,
  • pursue a minimum 3.0 GPA, and
  • demonstrate financial need.
