Brightwell Family and Dayton Firefighters IAFF Local 136 Scholarship
The Brightwell Family Memorial Scholarship Fund of The Dayton Foundation was established in 1999 by the family of Thomas O. Brightwell, Sr., a retired Dayton City firefighter (1929-1953), to award college scholarships to children of current or retired full-time Dayton firefighters.
Applicants must:
- be the child or grandchild of an active or retired full-time City of Dayton firefighter,
- have a minimum 3.0 GPA for high school students or a minimum 2.75 GPA for current college students, and
- be accepted at or attending an accredited two- or four-year college, university or technical school and be enrolled as a full-time student.
