Ways You Can Help Your Neighbors Affected by Recent Tornadoes in Greater Dayton
In order to provide a rapid response to the devastation left in the wake of the tornadoes that swept through Greater Dayton and Celina on May 27, The Dayton Foundation has established the Greater Dayton Disaster Relief Fund. The fund will allow the Foundation to quickly distribute disaster relief funds to charitable organizations that currently are working to help provide food, clothing and shelter for our friends and neighbors who are affected by these storms.
If you are a Dayton Foundation donor and use Donor Express, the Foundation's secure, online fund access system, you may direct grants to the Greater Dayton Disaster Relief Fund or to any other 501(c)(3) that is providing aid. Please specify in the "Grant Purpose" section on the "Grant Recommendation" screen of Donor Express that your contribution is to be made for local tornado relief efforts.
If you would like to help community relief efforts through the Greater Dayton Disaster Relief Fund but do not currently have a Dayton Foundation fund, you may mail a check to The Dayton Foundation, 1401 S. Main Street, Suite 100, Dayton, Ohio 45409. You also may make a secure, online credit card donation here. Please make sure that "Greater Dayton Disaster Relief" is listed on the check or in the fund name field.
As a service to our donors and other charitable-minded individuals, The Dayton Foundation also is providing the following links for more information on how to contribute to other charitable organizations that are working to help our friends and neighbors. You may want to visit their websites to learn more about their efforts. We will be updating this page as more information becomes available. Other charitable individuals can make contributions directly to the charities through their websites as noted below.
