Kettering Education Foundation - Candy Clark Scholarship

Ms. Candy Clark was employed for 39 years (1974 to 2013) as a Secondary Art Teacher in the Kettering School District. Her first teaching assignment was at Fairmont East High School (grades 9-12) from where she graduated in the class of 1970. Her next placement was at Kettering Junior High (grades 7-9) which later became Kettering Middle School. She acquired an additional Art "time" with students with very special needs. She taught at both John F. Kennedy Junior High and Indian Riffle Junior High during their final year in junior high school. She returned to Fairmont High (grades 10-12) where she taught until her retirement in the Spring of 2013. Throughout her career, she was the Art Club advisor. She took Art Club students on trips to Chicago, Illinois., Washington, D.C., and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Applicant's must:

• be a graduating senior from Fairmont High School,
• have taken at least two year of art classes with a grade of B or better,
• submit a portfolio of art work with a minimum of three pieces
• be accepted to a two- or four-year technical school, college or university, and
• have successful experience being employed or volunteering/community services.

Financial need will be considered if all else is equal.
