Kettering Education Foundation - Barbara Stager Memorial Scholarship
Barb Stager was a proud 1963 graduate of Miami University, where she majored in education with two focus areas: health and physical education and speech and drama. In 1965 she began her career at Fairmont West High School — a place that quickly became the heart of her professional and personal life. Over the years Barb made a lasting impact as a dedicated teacher, mentor, volleyball coach and cheerleading advisor, forging deep connections with students, colleagues and the community. Even in retirement Barb’s passion for education and the performing arts never waned. She treasured volunteering with Fairmont’s musical theater productions and Illusion Show Choir and cherished every opportunity to nurture young people’s talents and confidence on and off the stage. In honor of her life and legacy, the Barbara Stager Memorial Scholarship supports Fairmont students who aspire to careers in education or musical theater, in hopes that they find as much joy as she did in both.
