Miamisburg Schools Education Foundation - Class of 1951 Waldo Matthews-Lester Heistand Scholarship

This scholarship was established to financially assist graduating seniors of Miamisburg High School who plan on pursuing further education at a college or university. Waldo Matthews was a former head football and basketball coach at Miamisburg High School whose teams went to the regional finals and won several of these contests. Lester "Red" Heistand was a Miamisburg graduate who played football, basketball and baseball for Miamisburg and later was football and tennis coach for the school.

Applicants must:

• be a graduating senior from Miamisburg High School,
• have been involved in sports,
• have a minimum 2.0 GPA, and
• demonstrate financial need.
