New Endowments - Summer/Fall 2026

Establishing a strong foundation for our community’s future is a vision shared by donors who have endowment funds at The Dayton
Foundation. The following funds are some of the new endowments established by donors in recent months to support their special charitable causes and our region, now and in the future.

Breast Wishes Foundation Fund provides annual income to this nonprofit organization whose mission is to grant wishes that bring joy to individuals with breast cancer.

Andy Carlisle Memorial Fund awards grants to pre-K through sixth grade teachers at Northmont City Schools to support needs such as field trips and classroom enhancements.

Dan Carlisle Memorial Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to select graduating seniors from Northmont High School who have participated on its football team for four years and have been recommended by the coaching staff, among other criteria. The fund memorializes Dan Carlisle, a member of the 1995 NHS football team, whose dedication to and love for academics, football and his friends helped him live life to the fullest before he passed away from cancer at age 16.

Chantel Lawrence

Chantel’s Legacy Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to graduating Dayton Public Schools seniors who have participated in high school sports or extracurricular activities and meet addi-tional criteria. Chantel Lawrence, a Central State University graduate and 2024 Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, and her husband, David, raised five children who graduated from DPS, four of whom went on to earn their college degrees debt-free and one who chose
a different path and serves as a City of Dayton firefighter.

Nancy and Lawrence Curk Family Fund distributes grants across a broad range of charitable areas.

Dayton Dream Center

Dayton Dream Center Fund supports this nonprofit organization dedicated to serving individuals and families in the Dayton Region who are affected by poverty, addiction, homelessness, food insecurity and limited access to opportunity.

Dayton Police History Foundation

Dayton Police History Foundation supports efforts to fulfill its mission to recount and preserve its remarkable local law enforcement past, with the goal of establishing the Dayton Metropolitan Police Museum.

Nila Faulkner Community Fund supports local nonprofits addressing critical needs in Greater Dayton, as determined by The Dayton Foundation’s Governing Board. Nila Faulkner worked as a job setter for General Motors for 25 years and was known for her resilient spirit, strong work ethic and warm connections within her community.

Phillip and Mary Hubbell Community Fund awards grants across a broad range of charitable interests, as chosen by
the donors.

Lilli Johnson Family Foundation honors the charitable wishes of the donor, who was the owner and president of Johnson Welded Products, Inc., for 44 years before her passing in 2025. Lilli was an active philanthropist and served on the boards of numerous organizations, including the Champaign County Library.

Kevin C. Jones

Kevin C. Jones Foundation aids charitable organizations important to this active community leader and alumnus of Oakwood High School. Kevin joined the Robert K. Jones Insurance Agency, LTD., in 1986 after graduating from The Ohio State University and currently serves as its president and CEO.

Jamie King

Jamie and Robert King Fund for Financial Literacy provides income for the Cummings-Feola Family Foundation, Inc., in New York to distribute financial literacy materials produced by Ramsey Education to middle and high schools in the United States. Jamie King is a past member of The Dayton Foundation’s Governing Board and was named one of Dayton Daily News’ 2001 Ten Top Women in recognition of her leadership and community involvement. Her late husband, Robert, retired as a financial director for The Reynolds and Reynolds Company and was a United States Air Force veteran.

Shawn Magee Foundation for Educational Success supports students in grades K through 12 at Bradford Exempted Village School and seniors enrolled in Upper Valley Career Center trade programs by addressing financial obstacles that can impact learning and career readiness. Assistance may include school fees, supplies, tools, certifications, licenses and other educational expenses that help students succeed beyond graduation.

Moving Forward Fund distributes grants over a 20-year period to the Clinton County Homeless Shelter, Sugartree Ministries and the Wilmington Hope House, Inc., A Safe Place for Women and Children.

The Pulos Family Foundation Fund supports charities selected by the Pulos family. Debra and Chris Pulos, along with their families, choose to support causes in their communities and beyond. They hope their fund will remain in perpetuity to ensure long-term giving to the people and places important to all of them.

Jeanette W. Schultz Legacy Fund* provides annual income to the Foundation for Centerville-Washington Parks, Humane Society of Greater Dayton, NumbersUSA Education and Research Foundation, and ThinkTV.

The Skerl Family Fund contributes to the charities of the Skerl family’s choosing.

Sunshine Scholarship Fund assists students from Montgomery or Greene counties who demonstrate financial need, volunteerism and wish to pursue degrees in STEM or medical-related fields, among other criteria.

You Turn Ministries Designated Fund provides general operating support for this Lebanon, Ohio, organization dedicated to meeting tangible needs in Southeast Africa, such as building and repairing water wells and caring for orphaned children. k
