Vandalia-Butler Foundation - Stuart S. Gitman Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Stuart S. Gitman, a graduate of Butler High School. Stuart Gitman died in 1994 at the age of 49. According to family members, he was a kind and sensitive person who was very devoted to his son, Brian, and his family. He cared for his friends and the friendless. This one-time award may be used for tuition and related educational expenses. It is hoped that this scholarship will ease the financial burden of acquiring a post-secondary education. Students should have good character, motivation, realistic goals and have overcome a major obstacle in his/her formative years.
