Vandalia-Butler Foundation - M. Byron Morton Scholarship

The M. Byron Morton Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to remember this former Vandalia-Butler City Schools' superintendent and namesake of the Morton Middle School. His career in education spanned a total of 61 years. During Mr. Morton's tenure with the Vandalia-Butler City Schools, the Vandalia-Butler Stadium was established in honor of area veterans killed while serving their country.

Applicants must:

• be a graduating Butler High School senior,
• be accepted to a four-year college or university as a full-time student,
• demonstrate financial need,
• demonstrate academic ability,
• demonstrate commitment, dedication and achievement through involvement in school, community and/or job, and
• have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
