National Scholarship Information

The College Board (https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/) - offers helpful college planning information, as well as scholarship resources and tools and calculators to help pay for college.

FastWeb (www.fastweb.com) - enables students to search online for available scholarships nationwide and helps to match a student’s needs to scholarships. The site also offers tips for winning scholarships.

Institute of Education Sciences College Navigator (www.nces.ed.gov/ipeds/cool) - is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and provides a database, which can be searched by geographic area, college major, type of institution, etc.

The SmartStudent Guide to Financial Aid (www.finaid.com) - provides an easy-to-follow guide for students applying for federal aid and other types of financial assistance. The site includes information and resources about financial aid, including online calculators to help you figure out how much school will cost and how much you will need to save.

Grant Space (www.youth.foundationcenter.org/youth_scholarships.html) - provides links to other online scholarship and financial aid resources for undergraduate students.

Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA) (www.oasfaa.org/docs/toc_students_parents.html) - provides links to affordable financial aid resources for students.

The White House - Reach Higher Initiative (www.whitehouse.gov/reach-higher) - provides links to a White House initiative to inspire students in America and assist students in understanding what is needed to sucessfully complete their education.

Career Direction Information

Career Coach (www.sinclair.edu/explore/careercoach) - provides an online tool for researching various occupations, including regional employment data, and connects students to academic pathways at Sinclair Community College.

Information on Getting Involved Through Volunteerism and Philanthropy

Youth Service America (www.servenet.org) - offers an online directory of volunteer opportunities for youth and adults. Site visitors can enter their zip code, city, state, skills, interests and availability to be matched with organizations needing help.

Youth in Philanthropy (http://youth.foundationcenter.org) - is sponsored by The Foundation Center and provides information and resources for students who want to make a difference in their community.
