Our Endowed Funds

Since 1921, The Dayton Foundation has been helping donors and organizations help others and our community through endowed funds that preserve our donors’ charitable purposes, today and after their lifetimes.

Eleanor VanAusdal Children's Fund – 2003 will allow The Dayton Foundation to use its discretion to award grants to organizations that benefit children, specifically to purchase toys and clothing for children in need during the holidays.

Valley View Athletic Booster Scholarship – 2019 recognizes one outstanding female and one outstanding male from the graduating class at Valley View High School by awarding scholarships. 

Valley View Foundation Fund – 2021 generates annual revenue to enhance the educational offerings and facilitates of the Valley View Local School District. 

Valley View Local Schools Funds - 2016 benefits students of Valley View Local Schools by awarding grants for activities that enhance their learning, including scholarships for higher education.

The Veterans Affairs History Center Foundation – 2022 supports the construction and operation of a world-class National VA History Center. This center will be the central location for artifacts and archives of the contribution the Department of Veterans Affairs has made to our healthcare system while serving our nation’s veterans.

Victoria Theatre Association Endowment Fund – 1991 provides income to this historic downtown Dayton theatre, in order to assist in its presentation of theatrical programming and the management of the theatre. The Victoria originally opened in 1866.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park Fund – 1985 helps to maintain the community's endowed memorial to 403 Dayton/Miami Valley-area individuals who lost their lives in Vietnam.

Moira E. Vilardo Scholarship Fund – 2012 designates funds to assist students with tuition costs at Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School in Liberty Township. The fund was created by Louis Vilardo in memory of his wife, Moira

Hedda von Goeben Endowment – 2022 provides support for the Friends of White Water Shaker Village, Inc. This nonprofit organization in Crosby Township near Harrison, Ohio, works to preserve and restore the North Family of the Shaker Village, as well collects and exhibits artifacts related to the site for the cultural enrichment of the public. 

While the size and purpose of each fund is different, our donors share the same goal – to make a difference.
